Veteran Kannada actor Jaggesh has opened up about how Rajinikanth's recent remarks on life, fame and acceptance left a lasting impact on him. The actor shared a heartfelt note on social media following Rajinikanth's emotional speech at the launch of Dharman, where the latter spoke about the realities of public life and the impossibility of pleasing everyone.
Jaggesh recalled that he was just 18 years old and studying second-year PUC (PCMB) at Seshadripuram College when he acted in one of his early films. At that age, he said, his mind was filled with dreams. "I wanted to become someone. I wanted people to recognise me. I wanted to earn money, stand tall before those who looked down on me, make my parents proud, build a happy family with the woman I loved, and succeed in life," he wrote. He added that those dreams were not unique to him, but were shared by young people everywhere.
According to Jaggesh, aspirations become reality only through sincere effort, discipline and a clear sense of purpose. He said that dreams without hard work remain nothing more than imagination, disappearing like clouds in the sky and leaving behind a life of missed opportunities.
The actor then spoke about the words that stayed with him from Rajinikanth's recent address: "It is a complete lie to believe that everyone likes us, and it is foolish to think that those who like us will like everything we do."
Jaggesh said the statement opened his eyes, especially after looking back on everything he has achieved in his own life and career. He described it as a reminder that success does not guarantee universal acceptance and that one cannot live seeking everyone's approval.
Ending his post on a philosophical note, Jaggesh wrote, "Life is beautiful if understood."
