The divine tale of Kantara: Chapter 1 is not just pulling in the masses, it is also drawing leaders and celebrities. Riding on a wave of devotion and grandeur, the film has now caught the attention of former Mysuru-Kodagu BJP MP Pratap Simha, who went the extra mile to celebrate the cinematic spectacle.

The politician booked an entire screen at DRC to watch the film along with his party workers. Announcing the news on social media, Simha wrote, “Tomorrow at 4 pm, let us all gather and watch Kantara. I have booked a full screen at DRC.”

According to the details he shared, Simha reserved all 197 seats in the second screen of the theatre, spending ₹68,920 on the booking. The gesture has further added to the buzz around the film, with many now curious about his reaction after experiencing Rishab Shetty’s vision on the big screen.

Mounted on a massive scale by Hombale Films, the film has already begun its triumphant run at the box office. After a grand premiere on October 1 that drew packed houses, Kantara: Chapter 1 registered houseful shows across the state on October 2. The weekend rush is expected to push collections even higher.

Rishab Shetty, who has written, directed, and starred in the film, is joined by Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram, and Prakash Tuminadu in pivotal roles. With its pan-Indian release in seven languages, the film’s reach goes far beyond Karnataka, with impressive numbers already being reported.

Along with the ticket booking, Simha also extended his wishes to Hombale Films’ founder Vijay Kiragandur on his birthday, calling him “the pride of Karnataka cinema” and seeking blessings from Goddess Chamundeshwari for his health and prosperity.

With divine lore at its heart and cinematic ambition at its core, Kantara: Chapter 1 looks set to repeat history — both at the box office and in people’s hearts.
