Rahul Arunoday Banerjee death: Police say crew lacked necessary permission

Police revealed shocking details about the Bengali actor's death

On Monday, we reported about the death of Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee. The actor died by drowning in the ocean during the shoot of the serial titled Bhole Baba Par Karega. Now, Balasore Police has made some shocking revelations about the actor's demise.

Balasore Additional SP Gayatri Pradhan said to ANI that Rahul was declared dead after he was taken to the hospital and that actor Sweta Misra, who was shooting with him, is stable now. "The production crew did not take any necessary permission... The body will be handed over after the completion of the formalities," the police officer added.

The law enforcement department revealed that both actors were shooting a dance sequence while the tragedy unfolded. They were taken to a hospital immediately, but medics could save only Sweta. According to Balasore Pratyush Diwakar, Balasore Superintendent of Police, Talsari law enforcement received information about the incident first from officers in Digha and that they took further action afterwards. The department added that the makers of the TV serial did not have the required permission to shoot at the location.

Talsari police authorities are looking into the matter now in coordination with Digha law enforcement. Son of Biswanath Banerjee, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee became an actor at a young age with roles in the theatre group of his father before venturing into films. He is most popular for Chirodini Tumi Je Amar, director Raj Chakrabarty's 2008 film, co-starring Priyanka Sarkar.
