Waves OTT, Prasar Bharati's streaming platform, started streaming the critically acclaimed comedy-drama Emuthi Puthi from today. The film, which won Best Regional Film (Assamese) at the 70th National Film Awards, has made its exclusive digital and satellite debut on the platform. The plot follows a whimsical road journey between two unlikely companions: Ritika, a rebellious teenager, and her eccentric grandmother, Makhoni Aita. As Ritika plans her escape from home and Makhoni sets out in search of a mythical fish, the two begin a 500-kilometre journey.
Kulanandini Mahanta has directed the film, which stars Pratibha Choudhury, Neetali Das, and Srishti Sharma. Kenny Basumatary, Monisha Bhuyan, Rubul Bora, Lima Das, and Arghadeep Baruah star in supporting roles. Metanormal Motion Pictures and Ruhaan Films have produced the project. Basshole has composed the music, with songs like ‘Halla Gulla Betha,’ ‘Deuka,’ and ‘Maas Bihu’ already popular among audiences.
