Legendary actor Asrani, who passed away last year, continues to make his presence felt in many films this year where he was seen posthumously. Earlier this year, he was seen in Ikkis and Bhooth Bangla. Now the late actor will feature yet again in Akshay Kumar-Saif Ali Khan starrer Haiwaan. On Friday, Akshay shared a long, heartfelt post remembering Asrani and their warm association.
Sharing a brief clip from Haiwaan, which features Asrani as a constable, Akshay penned, “My good fortune that I got to work with this legend and see him give his last ever shot in Haiwaan. Miss you Asrani ji…there can be no one like you.”
Many fans expressed their love and gratitude in the comments section under Akshay Kumar’s post. The Family Man actor Sharib Hashmi, who can be seen in the shared clip alongside Asrani, too expressed his regards in the comments.
Akshay and Asrani who first collaborated on the 1999 film International Khiladi, went on to work together in many popular comedy-entertainers like Hera Pheri, Khatta Meetha, Welcome, Bhool Bhulaiyya and Bhagam Bhag among others.
Asrani, who worked in more than 450 films in his 55 year career, died on October 20, 2025 at his Mumbai residents. He was 84 years at the time of his demise. Haiwaan, which also marks Asrani’s last on-screen appearance, is set for theatrical release on September 11.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan also marks Akshay’s reunion with Saif after 18 years — they last worked together in the Yash Raj production Tashan (2008). The film additionally features Boman Irani and Saiyyami Kher in key roles.
