Two new posters showing the characters of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan from the upcoming psychological thriller Haiwaan was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. This comes a day after the film's teaser has been scheduled to be released.
The blurry posters show Akshay and Saif peeping from behind a grainy, sandpaper-coloured glass. Akshay has a murderous knife in his hand, while Saif is wearing an expression of fear and concern. Previously too, some posters of Akshay and Saif from the film were released by the makers.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan is the Hindi remake of the director’s 2016 Malayalam film Oppam, featuring Mohanlal. The original film featured Mohanlal as a visually impaired man who becomes the unlikely protector of a judge’s daughter. Priyadarshan has confirmed that Mohanlal will appear in a cameo role in Haiwaan.
Talking about working in the film, Saif had previously described it as an 'amazing and challenging' experience. "I shot with Priyadarshan and I felt amazing, because there was something new to perform every day. There was something in the scene. You could feel it — this is a Priyadarshan film," he had said.
“Haiwaan is the film with Akshay Kumar playing a scary bad guy and me playing a visually impaired music teacher, who is the only person who can save this little girl. So, it’s a David–Goliath story. There’s action, there’s drama, but every day was something amazing to perform. That feeling of completeness was incredible,” he had added.
The film brings together the trio of Akshay, Saif, and Priyadarshan for the first time and also reunites Akshay and Saif on screen after 18 years since their last outing in Tashan (2008).
The film, also featuring Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar, is scheduled to release on September 11.
