In an interaction with a social media user, Yami Gautam Dhar addressed the release of Nayyi Naveli alongside Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. Nayyi Naveli released on October 16, a day after Jailer 2.
When the user wrote, "Movie badhiya hai (Movie was great). Timing with Jailer 2 was not optimum," Yami replied by writing, "Nowadays to get a solo or just 2 films release window is difficult. Its very difficult to make a successful film today, hence I appreciate everyone’ effort to have done their best :) And I couldn’t be more grateful to audience for giving us a chance."
She added, "Having said that, just like millions of people I am also a huge Rajni sir fan. It was indeed an honour for me to have my small film release along with sir’, which I am myself looking forward to watch it soon."
Nayyi Naveli is the Hindi debut of director Balaji Mohan, and features Yami Gautam as Mohini, who is suspected to be a Daayan by her new in-laws. The cast of the film includes Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee and Prateek Pachori.
Meanwhile, Jailer 2 features Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth) hunting down a larger idol smuggling syndicate behind the gang that he took down in Jailer (2023).
