Actor Ranbir Kapoor is awaiting the November 05 release of Ramayana, his first theatrical debut since 2023's Animal. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars him in the titular role of Lord Ram alongside Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as demon king Raavan. Recently, Ranbir spoke about the personal effect of the story on him.

Speaking to BBC News India, Ranbir was asked about the impact of Ramayana as he commenced the project around the time he became a father. In response, the actor said that the project "came at the right time" for him, when he was thinking about becoming "a better person" in life. The actor also revealed that his and his wife Alia Bhatt's daughter, Raha Kapoor, also showed interest in the core mythological story the film is based on.

"Me and Alia always tell her stories; she has visited the set many times. She has given a shot with Sai (Pallavi), me and Lakshman also. So she has really been part of this journey," Ranbir said.

It happened to be the first-ever film set that Raha has visited and is going to be the first story she is set to watch on the big screen. Notably, the release of the film coincides with Raha's birthday, which reportedly falls on November 06.

Recently, Yash's children, Ayra and Yatharv, had their first theatrical experience with the world premiere of Ramayana. Yash revealed in the same interview that he was "surprised by the kind of reactions" that his children gave to the film. The actor said that his "son had too many questions" regarding the story and that his daughter "was cool" with it, and she gave a thumbs up to him when he asked her opinion about it.
