We had earlier reported about the Vadh sequel being announced by producers Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. Starring Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta who will be reprising their roles from the 2022 original, the film is set for theatrical release on February 6. On Tuesday, the official trailer of the film was unveiled.

By the looks of it, Vadh 2 starts off on a new note, promises to unravel another crime-ridden chapter in the lives of Shambhu (Sanjay) and Manju (Neena) as they navigate multiple threats at once while trying to keep a secret. The plot thickens after a local violent thug Keshav, who has terrorised the jail inmates, suddenly disappears. The trailer also adds to the intrigue by showing Manju as a prison inmate, and Shambhu as a silent yet capable ally to her.

Vadh 2 is written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, who was also a co-director for Vadh. The film is bankrolled under Luv Films banner, with Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg serving as producers. Shilpa Shukla, Kumud Mishra, Amitt K Singh, Akshay Dogra and Yogita Bihani comprise the supporting cast.

Talking about the film, Jaspal Singh Sandhu said, “Vadh 2 is conceived to deliver an experience of a rich narrative driven by well defined characters. We’ve pushed the envelope, taking the storytelling a notch higher to give the audience a layered thriller–mystery.”

Luv Ranjan noted, “What makes Vadh 2 special is that the franchise is led by remarkable senior actors- Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, and joining them is Kumud Mishra and together their powerful screen presence reinforces our belief that strong stories transcend age and convention.”

Vadh 2 had its premiere at IFFI, Goa in November last year.
