On Monday, Delhi High Court passed an order, directing Rajpal Yadav to surrender himself after the actor failed to make due payments after being convicted in a cheque-bouncing case in 2024. 

In a judgment made by Delhi sessions court in May 2024, Rajpal was sentenced to six months in jail after the complainant Murali Projects Pvt Ltd filed a case against him for bounced cheques. However, the sentence was suspended later that year by another bench of court, when Rajpal Yadav’s counsel assured that the actor was willing to settle the issue and make all due payments to the production company. Rajpal had requested to be allowed  to pay the dues of ₹2.5 crore in two installments - ₹40 lakh by December 16, 2025 and the remaining ₹2.1 crore by January 15 this year. 

However, after the actor failed to comply with the orders, Delhi HC refused to show any more tolerance towards the actor, issuing the said directive. The court also criticised Rajpal’s conduct in the hearing, adding that the actor didn't take any steps to deposit the demand drafts or fix the mistakes that were said to be in the drafts, rejecting the actor’s explanations for the non-payments. 

Rajpal Yadav has been order to surrender by Wednesday, February 4.
