Rajpal Yadav and Boney Kapoor have shared their reactions about Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial comments made on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. Rajpal called it to have done to gain ‘cheap publicity’ while Boney expressed concern over the comment and said that there is a need for ‘self-censorship’ while saying some things in public.
Speaking to India Today, Boney said, “What he did is something which I don’t endorse at all. There have got to be limitations. There has to be self-censorship also. Within your home, you talk whatever you want to talk, but on social platforms, you need to be careful and you need to be disciplined.”
Rajpal Yadav spoke to Bollywood Bubble and said, “Aisa lagta hai ki yeh sasti popularity paane ke chakkar mein yeh kya hota ja raha hai humare yuva generation ko. Iss tarike ke log apne maa baap ko bhi nahi chodte. (Our young generation will do anything to get cheap publicity. While doing so, they will not even spare their parents.)”
Earlier, Manoj Bajpayee and Imtiaz Ali had shared their reaction on Ranveer’s distasteful comments.
Ranveer appeared on Samay’s show recently and made controversial comments about parents. He said, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop?”. The remark went viral on social media, inviting furious reactions from everyone.
A police complaint was also filed against the makers and participants of the show earlier this week for using abusive language and the matter is currently under inquiry. The National Commission of Women (NCW) also issued summons to Samay and others who came on the recent episode of the show.
Meanwhile, Ranveer issued an apology earlier this week, Samay took to social media on Wednesday to announce that he has removed all the episodes of his comedy show from YouTube.
