Ranveer Allahbadia, popular known as BeerBiceps, is one of the most popular and influential content creators to have emerged in the past few years. Making a rare post on his X page, the popular content creator expressed his views on the perks and perils of being a content creator, also claiming that leading content creators now make more money than most Bollywood actors.
In his post, Ranveer wrote, “People assume the film industry pays better than content creation. It's usually the opposite, only maybe thirty people at the very top of Bollywood make real money.”
Ranveer also claimed that unlike Bollywood, where big earnings are reserved only for top players, ‘content creation has room for thousands of people to build something sustainable, most of them without ever becoming famous the way an actor has to.’
Other popular Bollywood celebrities who have turned YouTubers and content creators include Farah Khan and the actor couple Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi. Parmeet had said in an interview last year, “If we decide to make this our full-time career, it’ll pay us at least three times more than what films and television together pay us.” Eminent filmmaker Farah Khan too has spoken many times about making more yearly earnings as a YouTuber than as a director, despite having directed successful films like Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007), and Happy New Year (2014).
Meanwhile, there have been many who made the journey other way too — like Prajakta Koli and Kusha Kapila who became popular as content creators on social media first, before turning towards an acting career in films and OTT shows.
Ranveer, who started his now-popular podcast The Ranveer Allahbadia Show in 2019, was also part of a major controversy in 2025 after one of his controversial jokes on Samay Raina’s popular YouTube show India’s Got Latent in 2025 landed him in trouble, even leading to FIRs being lodged against him and three other content creators.
