An AI-generated version of the 'Chuttamalle' song from the 2024 Jr NTR-Janhvi Kapoor starrer Devara: Part 1 that features sexual explicit content has been doing the rounds on the internet. On Saturday, Jr NTR hit out at the makers of the video. Describing the practice as "Disgusting, Sick and Shameless," the actor called out the misogynistic intention behind the propagation of the clip.
"In a land that worships women as mothers and goddesses, where "Matrudevo Bhava" is not just a phrase but a part of our culture, some people have fallen so low that they are using AI to disrespect a woman in the most degrading way possible. Using AI to create something this vile is shameful beyond words," Jr NTR shared.
The actor added, "To the scumbags behind this morphed Chuttamalle video, I will not spare any of you. I will take every possible legal action against those who created it and those who are spreading it."
Jr NTR also asked the audience not to engage with this type of web content, regardless of who it features. "Today it is someone else. Tomorrow, it could be your mother, sister, wife or daughter," the actor warned the public before urging the state and national governments to enforce strict rules and regulations regarding the abuse of artificial intelligence.
Actor Vijay Deverakonda also echoed the same sentiment as Jr NTR. Quote-tweeting the Devara star's post, Vijay Deverakonda shared, "We have stooped to the levels of absolute lowlife. Whoever is responsible for this should not be spared. They must face the harshest possible legal consequences and be made an example of. We must not let this go." Vijay added, "This is the digital equivalent of sexual assault. law must treat such acts with utmost seriousness. And to the team standing up against this, you have my full support."
Singer Chinmayi Sripaada also slammed the practice by saying, "Making AI deepfake sexually explicit videos is rape culture."
