Haiwaan, the upcoming thriller, marks the first collaboration between Saif Ali Khan and Priyadarshan. In a recent interview, the Hera Pheri filmmaker spoke about working with the Sacred Games actor, sharing what he admires about him.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Priyadarshan described Saif as a ‘mature child,’ elaborating “He has a lot of questions every time, and of course, every actor has the right question, but the moment it is answered, he just obeys you. After two days, I found that there was no question, so I asked him in the morning, ‘Any questions?' He said, ‘No sir, now I know what you want to shoot.' So that actually builds our confidence with each other, and that is the way it went on.”

Priyadarshan also shared what sets Saif apart from most other contemporary actors. “I have noticed one wonderful thing about him. In between the shots, he only reads books; I've never seen him on his phone, and he only reads books in between the shots. Then I found that he's a voracious reader and has amazing knowledge about things around the world. You can talk to him on many subjects.”

In Haiwaan, Saif will be seen playing a blind Samurai, who is challenged by a mysterious antagonist figure. The film, which also stars Akshay Kumar in the lead cast, is the official remake of 2016 Malayalm film Oppam, which too was directed by Priyadarshan. The thriller additionally features stellar actors like Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, and Rajesh Sharma in the ensemble cast.

The makers of Haiwaan recently released a brief teaser, which played entire on atmospheric visuals, further intriguing the Hindi cinema. The thriller is set to release theatrically on September 11.
