A week ahead of the release of Varun Dhawan starrer Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, the actor did an Ask Me Anything session on X on Tuesday. During the session Varun was asked a myriad of questions, amongst them were his views on the incoming clash with Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1 and the box office failure of his last Baby John (2024).

When a user asked Varun whether he is “afraid” of releasing his film alongside Kantara, the actor replied, “Release date toh production wale set karte hain. Par hum buss apni film pe mehnant kar rahe hain aur logo ko Hassane ki koshish. (Release date is set by the production people. We are only working on ou film and trying to make people laugh). I wish Oct 2nd everyone is laughing and smiling and celebrating.”

Another pointed out that his last release, Baby John, was a flop, to which Varun admitted and wrote, “Hain yaar nahi chali yaar sab ne bahut mehnat ki isilya #ssktk ki script totally nayi hain hopefully app sabko maaza aayegaa Oct 2nd ko (I know, it didn’t work eventhough everybody had put in so much work. That’s why Sunny Sanskari… has a completely new script and hopefully all of you will enjoy it on October 2).”

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf. It also features Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles. Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan, the film is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on Dussehra, October 2.

Janhvi was recently seen in another rom-com, Param Sundari, which was released in theatres on August 29. It starred Sidharth Malhotra in the lead. Varun's last film, Baby John, came out last year and turned out to be a major failure at the box office. The actor will also be seen next in Border 2, which also stars Sunny Deol and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles. It is set to be released in theatres next year.
