‘Tu Hai Meri’, a song from Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic-comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. It is sung and composed by Sachet-Parampara, with lyrics by Kausar Munir.
The music video of the song begins with a conversation between Varun and Janhvi, who play Sunny and Tulsi in the film. He tells her that she is important for the well-being of his heart and the vocals by Sachet begin. The video also features Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf being paired together. Varun and Janhvi are seen sharing a tender moment during a gypsy ride in the countryside. At one point, he is seen running towards her on a bridge over a lake as he comes close and gives a peck on her cheeks. There are also brief moments between Varun and Sanya and Rohit and Janhvi who play each other’s ex-partners in the romantic-comedy. The sharp vocals by Sachet compliment the brief tender voice of Parampara in the first verse with the heartfelt music and lyrics adding a new layer to the romance between the on-screen pairs. The music video ends with Janhvi running towards Varun on the same bridge over the lake as they break into a warm embrace.
The film marks the second collaboration between Varun and Janhvi, following their first film together, Bawaal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which released in 2023.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also stars Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles. Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan, the film is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on Dussehra, October 2.
Janhvi was recently seen in another rom-com, Param Sundari, which was released in theatres on August 29. It starred Sidharth Malhotra in the lead. Varun's last film, Baby John, came out last year and turned out to be a major failure at the box office. The actor will also be seen next in Border 2, which also stars Sunny Deol and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles. It is set to be released in theatres next year.
