Saiyaara (Netflix, September 12): After the blockbuster success at the box office, Mohit Suri’s romantic-musical releases on OTT this week. Marking the debut of Ananya Panday’s cousin, Ahaan Panday, the film also stars Aneet Padda in the lead and tells a story of old-school love between a passionate musician Krrish and an innocent poet, Vaani, who is recovering from a recent heartbreak. Their paths cross and the two fall in love. However, Vaani is diagnosed with a disease that threatens to take away her memory which brings a jolt to their relationship. The film was met with good reviews when it released in theatres on July 18, as it emerged as the second-highest grossing film of the year after Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, minting Rs 329 crore in India and Rs 570 crore globally. Saiyaara is produced by Yash Raj Films.
Do You Wanna Partner (Prime Video, September 12): Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty play best friends starting their own beer company in this comedy-drama which is set to release on Hindi OTT this week. Shikha (Tamannaah) and Anahita (Diana) have lost their jobs and decide to become their own bosses by starting their own company. They plan to venture into the business of building a beer brand. Along the way, they meet a business tycoon, played by Neeraj Kabi, who poses a challenge in their journey. Directed by Collin D'Cunha and Kumar, written by Nandini Gupta, Aarsh Vora and Mithun Gangopadhyay, and created by Mithun and Nishant Nayak, the show also stars Jaaved Jaaferi, Nakuul Mehta, Shweta Tiwari, Sufi Motiwala, and Rannvijay Singha in pivotal roles. It is produced under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta as producers, and Somen Mishra and Archit Kumar as executive producers.
