Kamal Haasan remembers the 'kind' Dharmendra

Dharmendra and Kamal Haasan worked together on Raaj Tilak (1984), which also starred Sunil Dutt and Dharmendra's wife Hema Malini

Kamal Haasan took to social media to remember Dharmendra, who passed away at the age of 89. The actor passed away in Mumbai, weeks before turning 90.

Taking to his X handle, Kamal wrote, "Deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend and legendary actor Dharmendra ji. Dharam Ji’s charm, humility and strength of spirit were as real off-screen as on it. Indian cinema has lost one of its kindest icons. My heartfelt condolences to his family and admirers."

Kamal and Dharmendra starred together in the 1984 film Raaj Tilak. The film also starred Sunil Dutt and Dharmendra's wife Hema Malini. Raaj Tilak was directed by Rajkumar Kohli, a recurring collaborator of Dharmendra.

Dharmendra is survived by Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, his first and second wives, Sunny and Bobby Deol, his sons, Esha and Ahaana Deol, and Ajeita and Vijeita, his daughters.
