‘Preet Re’, a new song from the Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer Dhadak 2, was unveiled by the makers on Monday. The romantic number has been sung by Darshan Raval, Rochak Kohli, and Jonita Gandhi, with music composed by Rochak Kohli and lyrics penned by Gurpreet Saini.

The music video shows love blooming between Siddhant and Triptii’s characters as they hang out together after college hours. They seem to be law college students and the song gives us a glimpse into their lives and friends.

Sharing his thoughts about the song, Darshan Raval said, “ ‘Preet Re’ is not just a melody, it’s a feeling. It’s about that quiet, beautiful moment when you realise someone means the world to you. It was an incredible experience working on the song.”

Echoing the sentiment, Jonita Gandhi added, “There’s an innocence to first love, and that’s what we’ve tried to bring alive with this song. I hope listeners feel as connected to it as we felt while singing.”

Talking about composing the song, Rochak Kohli shared, “With ‘Preet Re’, I wanted to blend simplicity with sincerity. It’s a song that celebrates pure, honest love without trying too hard – just like first love itself., and I am overjoyed with how it has turned out to be.”

Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the film is a Hindi remake of Mari Selvaraj’s 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. It is produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra, and Pragati Deshmukh under the banners of Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures. Dhadak 2 is set to release in cinemas on August 1.
