The trailer of Son of Sardaar 2 was unveiled on Friday and gave a glimpse into the comedy-entertainer. The film stars Ajay Devgn in the lead along with Mrunal Thakur, who opened up at the trailer launch about playing a Punjabi character in it.
Mrunal plays the character of Rabia in the film and is seen saying some Punjabi dialogues in the film. Speaking about it, she said, “On stepping into a Punjabi character, she added, "For me, it was slightly difficult to act, dance, and groove to the beats of the dhol hats off to all those who play it! The Punjabi accent was a bit tough too, but everyone helped me through it."
She added, "Overall, I had so much fun while shooting. Interestingly, I even learned some French in Punjabi! If you watch the trailer, you'll see Rabia has her own shades. Being a Maharashtrian, it was quite challenging to play a Punjabi role. Par, sound bolte hi hum sab form mein aa jaate the (Everyone would be in form after hearing the word Sound).”
Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and written by Jagdeep Singh Sidhu and Mohit Jain, the film also stars Ravi Kishan, the late Mukul Dev, Chunky Panday, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles.
Previously, a song from the film, ‘Pehla Tu Duja Tu’, was shared by the makers. It featured Ajay and Mrunal dancing only through their fingers, which grabbed attention on social media. Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, Son of Sardaar 2 is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, NR Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. It is set to be released in theatres on July 25.
Meanwhile, Mrunal was last seen in the Telugu film, The Family Star, which also starred Vijay Deverakonda.
