Director Siddharth Anand took his time out to watch Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar and penned a note, reviewing the film. Heaping praise on the film's story, the Pathaan director called it 'nasha'. "It stays for long with you. It doesn’t leave you. You crave for wanting more," he remarked, appreciating the director Aditya Dhar for crafting a film with conviction. "It is a prime example of every damn department performing to their peak! How! How? Because the director Aditya Dhar propelled all of them with his conviction. And his passion. Which shows in every frame. There are some scenes that are executed like a seasoned maestro. Each performance, all of them, have just submitted and allowed their best to be extracted," he added.
Siddharth said he was "so happy" and also shared that he was going to watch the film once again in theatres. "I don’t remember wanting to see a film again in the theatres for years," he wrote.
Even before the film's release, the director had expressed his excitement to watch it. He had also revealed that he booked his ticket in advance and wished the entire team good luck.
Dhurandhar follows the story of an Indian intelligence operative, who infiltrates Pakistan's underworld at the behest of an Indian spymaster.
The cast of the film also includes Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait, R Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, Sanjay Dutt as Chaudhary Aslam, and Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal of the ISI. Sara Arjun made her debut as a lead, after being part of several projects as a child actor.
Upon release, the film was received with mixed reviews, but was praised for the lead actors' performances. Our CE review of the film read, "Dhurandhar blends the elements of a spy-thriller and an epic gangster saga. The result is a film which is always pregnant with promise but never delivers. At a run-time of 3. 5 hours (longest since 2008's Jodhaa Akbar), the film sometimes hits but often misses on the engagement meter."
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar is also getting a sequel, which is slated for release on March 19, 2026.
