A new motion poster from Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming romantic-drama, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Helmed by Shashank Khaitan of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania fame, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Akshay Oberoi, Abhinav Sharma, Maniesh Paul, and Manini Chadha in pivotal roles.
The motion features a rapidly-cut collage of photos where Varun and Janhvi are seen displaying multiple expressions and shades. A text on the screen reads, “Two heartbreakers, one wicked plan.” Then the photo of Sanya and Rohit is shown which is revealed to be in the hand of Varun who is posing for a picture with Janvhi. Then another text reads, “Revenge never looked this festive.” A short glimpse is offered into all the other characters as the film’s title appears.
Sharing the motion poster, the makers wrote, “Mandap sajega, mehfil jamegi...Par Sunny aur Tulsi ki entry, saari script badal degi! (The stage will be decorated as everyone will gather, but the entry of Sunny and Tulsi will change the script forever)”.
Earlier, the film’s shoot was wrapped as Varun posted group photos with the cast and crew to make the announcement.
The film’s official plot has been kept under wraps, but as per reports, the film revolves around Sunny (Varun) and Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi), two people with opposite personalities. Sunny is a fun-loving and carefree guy, while Tulsi is a cultured and serious girl. Destiny brings them together, and they fall in love.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan.
The film has been delayed twice before. First, it was scheduled to be released on April 18 which was pushed to September 12 later. It is now set to be released in theatres on October 2.
It marks the second collaboration between Varun and Janhvi, following their first film together, Bawaal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which released in 2023.
Varun was last seen in the mass-actioner Baby John, which turned out to be a box-office failure.
