Horror-comedy Phone Bhoot will start streaming on Prime Video on January 2. The film, starring Katrina Kaif, Sidhhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter, was released in theatres on November 4 to dismal reviews and a bleak box office.

Prime Video on Sunday posted the date announcement on its official Twitter page.

“Look who’s here to wish you a happy (spooky) new year. #PhoneBhootOnPrime, Jan 2,” the streamer said in the tweet.

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the film could only garner about Rs 14 crore at the box office. It was made at a budget of Rs 35 crore.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh of Mirzapur fame, Phone Bhoot stars Katrina as a ghost with Sidhhant and Ishaan playing ghostbusters. The film is written by Ravi Shankaran and Jasvinder Singh Bath, and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment.

Our review of the film described it as “a logline which made the writers dance in jubilation after it was cracked and no real script-writing was done.”
