Actor Guy Pearce is joining hands with Andrew Baird yet again, as the two are set to work on the upcoming Irish film Bottle. They previously collaborated on Zone 414 (2021) and Sunrise (2024), with their third film, The Marshal, set for release in 2027.
Billed as a thriller, the film has Pearce playing Jimmy, a pub owner with a violent history, who traps a troubled young man, Cillian, who breaks into the bar for a pint. As Cillian fights for survival, he also wants to know why Jimmy is holding him.
With Roberto Forte and Eamonn O'Brien penning the screenplay, the film is produced by FJ Productions' Fabio Golombek and Shannon Alexander, alongside David Collins of Samson Films.
Pearce has had two releases this year so far: The Dog Stars and Ink. He is set to star in the second installment of the hit Australian road comedy, Priscilla Queen of the Desert 2, in which he reprises Adam Whitely/Felicia Jollygoodfellow. Other films in the pipeline include Blurred, The Price of Peace, and The Road Home.
