After its theatrical release in June, director Steven Spielberg's science-fiction film Disclosure Day is set for its digital premiere. The film has been available on a rental basis on Prime Video for the last few weeks, but it is officially set to release on the Peacock Hub on JioHostar only on October 12, Monday. It will become available on the streaming platform also with dubs in Hindi.

Disclosure Day follows a weather news reporter (Emily Blunt) and an expert in cybersecurity (Josh O'Connor) who embark on a mission to uncover the secrets behind a covert government endeavour covering up the presence of extraterrestrials on Earth. Announcing the Disclosure Day OTT release date, the streamer wrote in the caption, "The world has been living with a secret it was never supposed to know. The people who knew about it have spent years making sure it stays hidden. Until someone decides it’s time the world knows the truth."

Disclosure Day also stars Colin Firth in an important role. The cast includes Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo.

It has brought Steven Spielberg back together with screenwriter David Koepp after collaborations on films such as Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), War of the Worlds (2005) as well as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

Produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Steven Spielberg himself under their Amblin Entertainment banner, Disclosure Day has brought the legendary filmmaker back to the science-fiction genre after 2018's Ready Player One. The film opened in theatres on June 12 to mixed to positive reviews from critics and audiences. The general consensus has been that while it does not rank among the best science-fiction films of Steven Spielberg, such as ET the Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Minority Report, it is still a good film. It has earned around $240 million from theatres worldwide, according to data from the tracker Box Office Mojo.
