Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr) takes centre stage in all the new posters from Marvel Studios for its upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, directed by the Russo Brothers. The posters signify the different formats in which the film will release in India: Infinity Vision, 4DX, RealD 3D, ScreenX, and Dolby Cinema. The countdown to what is being billed as 'the year's biggest cinematic showdown' has started. While Avengers: Doomsday is set for a December 18 release in the USA, it will hit theatres in India a day before. Besides English, the film will also be available with dubs in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.

The latest posters offer a more intimate look at Doctor Doom, who is regarded as one of the most powerful antagonists in the history of Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Besides Robert Downey Jr, Avengers: Doomsday also stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, the late Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova / Black Widow, among others.

While Marvel Studios revealed in its recent tribute to Partrick Stewart that the next Avengers film will mark the legendary actor's last onscreen appearance, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has clarified that the actor's X-Men role will continue to appear in other future MCU instalments, as with Stan Lee's character. As announced previously, the upcoming film will have a sequel, titled Avengers: Secret Wars.

While the makers of the film are yet to reveal plot specifics, the promotional materials for it suggest a showdown between Doctor Doom, who poses an existential threat, and the superheroes, including the Avengers.
