Charlize Theron's upcoming thriller Tyrant is expanding its cast list with the Fantastic Four actor Michael Chiklis becoming the new cast member. It was recently announced that Paapa Essiedu (HBO's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) is joining the film. Chiklis will be starring with  the main cast of Theron, Demi Moore and Julia Garner, along with the supporting cast of Essiedu, Hudson Williams, Omar Apollo and Nara Smith.

The upcoming film is directed by David Weil, who has written the script based on a story from Cody Behan and himself. While the details of the plot are kept under wraps, the film is reportedly set in New York's elite fine dining arena. The makers have also announced that production on the film has commenced.

Theron, with her Secret Menu banner, along with The Picture Company and Amazon MGM Studios, is backing the film.

Chiklis, last seen in The Senior (2023), awaits the release of director Thompson Evans' action thriller The Mongoose. He also appeared in the American crime drama television series BMF, created by Randy Huggins.
