Actor Timothee Chalamet is set to don the producer hat for Warner Bros Pictures' adaptation of the New York Times bestseller Playground by Richard Powers.

Chalamet is joined by Plan B and Brian Swardstrom for the production duties. Coming off two consecutive Academy Award nominations for the Best Actor category, for Marty Supreme and Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, Chalamet will be next seen in the most-anticipated third instalment of the Dune franchise, directed by Denis Villeneuve. He has earlier produced Bones and All, A Complete Unknown, and Marty Supreme.

The adaptation of the Booker Prize nominated book, which is expected to star Chalamet in the lead, subject to an official announcement, follows Todd Keane and his two best friends from the University of Illinois as they journey through the tech boom of Silicon Valley to the phosphate-mined Polynesian island of Makatea. The story explores love, friendship, and the sharp uptick of Artificial Intelligence.
