Four women have levelled criminal sexual conduct allegations against actor Jared Leto. The accusations have come in a documentary from the BBC that is titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. As many as ten women have stepped forward with accusations against Leto in incidents they said happened during their teenage years. The BBC has revealed that nine of them had not shared their experiences with Leto previously until they did through the documentary.

One of them alleged Leto of committing sexual assault on her in a hotel bathroom at a time she was only 17 years old. Another revealed that Leto had sexual intercourse with her before as she was legally allowed to do so, which henceforth would amount to statutory rape. The woman said that Leto dismissed the importance of the consent-related law for sex in her state.

A third claimed that the actor threatened to commit sexual assault as she was aged 19 years. And another claimed that Leto telephoned her in a sexually explicit manner and repetitively as she was a 16-year-old and that he suggested them having sex at least once.

The BBC revealed that one of them was approached for an NDA so that she could not talk about her relationship with the actor, although she did not sign it.

Four more women alleged that Leto called them and had "strange and often very sexual" conversations with them as they were relatively younger. According to Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, the women claimed that their interactions with the actor took place from 2002 to 2016 as he was in his thirties and fourties.

The BBC also confirmed corroborating many of these "women's accounts with friends and family who were told about the encounters with Leto at the time." They have also revealed that they have seen photographs and messages supporting the allegations.
