Earlier, we reported about Al Pacino, Brendan Fraser, Jessica Chastain, and Bryan Cranston starring in the murder mystery film Assassination. The latest development from the project is that Al Pacino's House of Gucci co-star Jared Leto is in final negotiations to star in the film. Barry Levinson is directing the film from a screenplay by Sam Bromell and legendary scenarist David Mamet.
The plot revolves around a conspiracy to assassinate former American President John F Kennedy. Chastain stars as Dorothy Kilgallen, a crime reporter who goes in pursuit of Lee Harvey Oswald's accomplice in JFK's murder. However, Kilgallen has to deal with the FBI, the CIA, and mafia leaders in her search as they all would like to make the crime reporter and her story vanish into thin air.
Jason Sosnoff and Corey Large are the producers of Assassination, with the latter financing the film as well. Executive producers comprise John Burnham, Bernie Gewissler, Pia Patatian and Jordan Nott. Production on the film is set to start in early 2025 in Boston.
