Allu Cinemas, owned by Allu Arjun and family, is set to host India's first screening of the Tom Holland starrer superhero film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, on Thursday. The screening will take place in association with the film's distributor, Sony Pictures India.

There have been much excitement and anticipation around the film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with shows getting sold-out for the first few days within hours of the bookings being open on major reservation platforms.

Speaking about the upcoming collaboration with Sony Pictures India, Allu Aravind stated, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a moment we have been building toward since we broke ground. To host India’s first premiere of a Sony Pictures title, on Asia’s largest Dolby Cinema screen, is not merely a milestone for Allu Cinemas it is a statement about where the Indian exhibition is headed."

Allu Arjun's father added, "We conceived this cinema with a Hollywood sensibility: the scale, the sound, the theatricality of the format itself. That intent has found its audience. The Gen Z filmgoer does not simply want to watch a film they want to be somewhere while they watch it. We are excited  that Sony Pictures stepped forward first and shared that conviction with us, and we look forward to many such firsts.”

Brand New Day is the eleventh film in the larger Spider-Man franchise, including three films starring Tobey Maguire, two featuring Andrew Garfield, the two Spider-Verse films, and three other Tom Holland starrers. Holland reprises his role from Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) in the upcoming film.

Brand New Day is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, alongside Justin Kuritzkes. The film also stars Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
