

Veteran actor VC Jayamani, well known for his role as Poongavanam in the hit TV soap Thirumathi Selvam (2007-2013), has passed away. According to reports, the actor died after suffering from a cardiac arrest.
While Jayamani has been working in many TV soaps for the last two decades, he earned immense appreciation from audiences for portraying Poongavanam, the father of the protagonist Selvam in the popular television serial.
Besides Thirumathi Selvam, he has also played key roles in Metti Oli (2002-2005), Kalyana Parisu (2014-2020) and the ongoing popular show Siragadikka Aasai, which began in 2023.
Over the course of his career, =Jeyamani appeared in more than 250 films, including Musthafa, Lucky Man, and Singam, portraying a variety of character and comedy roles. He also directed over 40 television serials. In addition, he was an active member of the South Indian Artistes' Association (Nadigar Sangam) and the Dubbing Union.
The news of his sudden demise has come as a major shock to the television industry and his fans. Several television actors and celebrities have been expressing their condolences and paying tribute to the late actor.
