After a dismal run at the box office, Masters of the Universe is getting its digital premiere on Prime Video from July 22. Starring Nicholas Galitzine, Jared Leto, Idris Elba and Camila Mendes, the film is based on the Mattel universe of 1982.

The Amazon MGM Studio film, directed by Travis Knight, also starred Alison Brie, Charlotte Riley, James Purefoy, Eire Farrell, Artie Wilkinson-Hunt and Morena Baccarin. This is the second live-action adaptation after the Dolph Lundgren-starrer in 1987.

The film follows Adam Glenn (Galitzine), aka He-Man, who has to protect his home planet of Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor (Leto). Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner and DeVon Franklin are producing the film.

Nicholas Galitzine will next be seen starring in The Mosquito Bowl, Red, White & Royal Wedding, The Return of Stanley Atwell and A Matter of Time. The films are in different stages of production.
