Earlier, we reported about director Robert Eggers helming a creature film titled Werwulf, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson in important roles. The latest development related to the film is that production on it has been wrapped. The film is directed by Eggers from a screenplay he has written alongside Sjon, his collaborator on The Northman.

Reportedly, the makers shot the film in England for 82 days. Ineson announced the update with an image from the Werwulf wrap party. "That was fun Werwulf," wrote the actor as the caption for his post. The cast also includes Bodhi Rae Breathnach of Hamnet fame.

With the werewolf film, Eggers continues his affinity for horror cinema after helming The Witch and Nosferatu. The plot is set in England of the thirteenth century, where folklore about a creature turns into a frightening reality. The film reunites Eggers with Taylor-Johnson, Dafoe, Ineson, and Depp after 2024's Nosferatu. Dafoe and Ineson also collaborated with the filmmaker on The Lighthouse and The Witch, respectively.

Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produce the film under the Working Title banner, along with Sjon and Eggers, whereas Chris and Eleanor Columbus of Maiden Voyage serve as executive producers.

Werwulf also brings Eggers back together with distributor Focus Features, which has collaborated with him on every film he has made so far. The film is expected to hit theatres in the Christmas season this year.
