Timothee Chalamet's Marty Supreme is smashing its way through the box office. The comedy drama has minted over $100 million worldwide and has become the fourth A24 film to cross the milestone after Everything Everywhere All at Once, Civil War, and Materialists. Everything Everywhere... remains the studio's highest-grossing film till date. At this tough juncture for arthouse films, Marty Supreme's box office hit has brought a renewed energy and confidence in filmmakers and producers.
The film, which was released in the US on December 25, 2025, also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher in key roles. Marty Supreme's current total stands at $102.3 million out of which $80.8 million comes from the US and $21.5 million from overseas markets. The recent recognition comes after the film became the studio's highest-grossing movie in the US. With the film yet to debut in theatres in many countries, including India, its revenue is only expected to increase in the upcoming weeks.
Directed by Josh Safdie, and scripted by him along with Ronald Bronstein, the film is set in the 1950s and is loosely based on American table tennis player Marty Reisman.
Chalamet recently won his first Golden Globe at the 83rd edition of the ceremony for his performance in the film. While he was previously nominated for Call Me By Your Name, Beautiful Boy, Wonka, and A Complete Unknown, the actor found his charm in the Golden Globes in his fifth time, beating George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung-hun and Jesse Plemons in the process.
