Anne Hathaway is heading back to the small screen with a chilling new project. The Oscar-winning actor has signed on to star in and executive produce Fear Not, a six-episode true-crime drama commissioned by Paramount+ and slated to premiere in 2027.

Based on a Vanity Fair article by Julie Miller, the series is being adapted by writer-producer Bash Doran, whose past work includes Boardwalk Empire and Hulu’s Foster Dade. Fear Not centres on the disturbing real-life case of serial killer Stephen Morin and Margy Palm, a Texas woman portrayed by Hathaway, who became Morin’s final abductee.

According to the show’s logline, what began as a terrifying hostage situation took an unexpected turn, shaped by Palm’s faith, compassion and resilience. Her belief that Morin could be redeemed forged a complex bond between the two, one that endured even after she escaped captivity, continuing until Morin was ultimately sentenced to death.

The show is being produced by MGM Television, with an extensive roster of executive producers attached. These include Steve Stark and Stacey Levin of Toluca Pictures; Helen Estabrook representing Vanity Fair Studios; Hathaway alongside Adam Shulman and Johnathan Rice under their Somewhere Pictures banner; and Margy Palm herself, along with Bart and Noelle Palm.

Fear Not marks Hathaway’s first television role since Apple TV+'s WeCrashed in 2022, but it arrives amid an especially busy phase in her career. Over the next year, she is set to appear in five films, including Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Verity, adapted from the Colleen Hoover novel, and Flowervale Street. She also has Alone At Dawn in which she will star alongside Adam Driver.

Doran, meanwhile, brings significant experience in prestige drama to the project, with additional credits spanning Netflix’s Outlaw King, Hulu’s The Looming Tower and the BBC’s Life After Life.
