The trailer for Mother Mary, the upcoming thriller headlined by Anne Hathaway has been released by the makers. David Lowery is directing the film, which is set to release early 2026.
Lowery continues his collaboration with A24 on Mother Mary after A Ghost Story (2017) and The Green Knight (2021). Mother Mary features music by Charlie XCX, Jack Antonoff, and FKA Twigs.
The cast of the film also includes Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Isaura Barbe-Brown, Alba Baptista, Sian Clifford, and FKA Twigs.
The story of Mother Mary follows the titular singer (Anne Hathaway) who reunites with her estranged best friend Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance.
The trailer for the film opens with Mary seeking solace with Sam, by asking her for a new dress. Sam clears the air about their estrangement, even though she agrees to making a dress. Sam also helps Mary using rituals and fantasy like methods to guide her.
