Riding high on the success of Heated Rivalry, breakout actor Connor Storrie is now in discussions to join the ensemble of Peaked, a new comedy in development at A24, as per a report on Deadline. Details about his character are being kept tightly under wraps.
The film, slated to begin production later this month, revolves around two former high school queens whose reputations left lasting scars. A decade later, the pair attempt to recapture their once-dominant social status at their 10-year reunion, with chaotic results.
Molly Gordon and Allie Levitan co-wrote the screenplay, with Gordon also set to direct and star. Emma Mackey leads the cast alongside Gordon and Levitan. As previously reported, the lineup also includes Laura Dern, Simone Ashley, Levon Hawke, Mitra Jouhari and Gabby Windey.
A24 is financing and producing the feature alongside producers David Hinojosa, Zach Nutman and Gordon, while Levitan will executive produce.
Storrie’s growing profile follows the breakout momentum of Heated Rivalry, the adaptation of Rachel Reid’s bestselling novels. After premiering on Crave in November 2025, the series gained significant traction when it rolled out on HBO Max in select territories, quickly becoming a cultural touchstone.
The romantic drama follows two elite NHL players, Canadian star Shane Hollander (played by Hudson Williams) and Russian rival Ilya Rozanov (Storrie), whose intense on-ice rivalry masks a secret, years-long relationship that gradually deepens into something neither anticipated. Created, written and directed by Jacob Tierney, a second season for the show has already been greenlit.
Before his leading turn in the queer hockey romance, Storrie appeared in supporting roles in series such as Tiny Beautiful Things and the feature Joker: Folie à Deux. He is also set to make his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on February 28, with Mumford & Sons serving as musical guest.
