Actor Rosario Dawson revealed in a recent interaction with fans that she had shot for a cameo appearance as Claire Temple in Spider-Man: Brand New Day that did not make the final cut. In a question and answer session with fans for Daredevil at the event GalaxyCon, Dawson revealed Spider-Man as the superhero with whom she wished to share screen space. She then revealed, "I even shot a scene in the new Spider-Man movie, but I got cut out."
The GalaxyCon crowd groaned as Rosario Dawson made the revelation. Acknowledging their surprise at the revelation, the actor added that she told her mother about her deleted cameo in Brand New Day and that the latter responded to her, saying, "That sucks. Now I can’t post the pictures."
Pat came the reply from Dawson to her mother: "'Right mom, me being cut out of the movie that has the largest viewership of a trailer ever, the issue is you can’t post the BTS photos.'"
Describing herself as a "reject of Spider-Man," Rosario Dawson remained optimistic of featuring in a film alongside the 'Friendly Neighbour' superhero down the road, especially with several MCU characters crossing paths. "Because everybody’s in it, it still means that my character is somewhere in that same universe, and I really love that. So, I hope I get to be Claire again," the actor explained.
Coming back to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the Tom Holland starrer has earned more than $1.5 billion at the global box office, according to reports. Reportedly, it has become the film with the highest gross collection in 2026 so far. It is worth noting that another Tom Holland starrer, The Odyssey, occupies the second spot on the list of the highest-grossing films of the year.
