Actor Hugh Jackman's whodunnit The Sheep Detectives has been getting many rave reviews following its world premiere in New York City earlier this April. The film is directed by Kyle Balda based on Leonie Swann's novel Three Bags Full. It stars Hugh Jackman as George Hardy, who is a shepherd found dead under mysterious circumstances. The premise involves a group of sheep embarking on a journey to find out the truth behind their shepherd's mysterious death.
Recently, we reported that the Hugh Jackman starrer is slated for a May 08 release in theatres around the world. Sometimes, Hollywood films have delayed releases in India following their international release. However, this is not going to happen with regard to the film, starring the Wolverine and The Prestige star.
Earlier this Wednesday, PVR Cinemas announced through social media the date for The Sheep Detectives' India release. The good news for audiences is that it will hit theatres in India on May 08, the same day as its international release. In addition, PVR Cinemas announced that there will be a special screening for the film ahead of its release. "The Sheep Detectives are on a mission to catch the murderer! Answer a simple question and stand a chance to attend the Special Screening and uncover the mystery on May 2 in Mumbai," the cinema chain wrote on X.
Jackman was most recently seen in last year's Song Sung Blue, written and directed by Craig Brewer. His previous film, Deadpool and Wolverine, was a massive hit across the world, including India.
Besides Jackman, the upcoming film stars Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, with Hong Chau and Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, and Rhys Darby.
