Universal Pictures' feature film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's wildly popular romantic drama, Reminders of Him, is now postponed from its February 2026 release. The film, which was initially slated for February 5, will not hit theatres on March 13, 2026.
Reminders of Him will now release on the date which was initially slated for an untitled Blumhouse film.
The film stars Maika Monroe of Longlegs fame and is helmed by Vanessa Caswill. Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham, Bradley Whitford and Nicholas Duvernay are also a part of the cast. The film has a script penned by Hoover and Lauren Levine.
Reminders of Him revolves around Kenna Rowan, who, after serving a five-year-long sentence in prison for a tragic accident, goes back to her hometown to seek reunion and redemption with her young daughter. She ends up facing resentment from everybody but a local bar owner, Ledger Ward, with whom she develops a blossoming romance. However, the relationship jeopardises her chances of rebuilding her life and healing from past mistakes.
Monroe portrays Kenna, while Whitford will be seen as the father of Kenna’s late boyfriend, Scotty. Whitford’s Patrick Landry and Lauren Graham’s Grace receive the guardianship of Kenna’s daughter after her incarceration.
Universal Studios’ adaptation of Reminders of Him is produced under the Heartbones Entertainment banner by Hoover and Levine and under the Little Engine Productions banner by Gina Matthews. Robin Fisichella will serve as executive producer.
A No. 1 New York Times bestselling novel, Reminders of Him, published in 2022, sold well over 6 million copies. This adaptation comes after Hoover’s It Ends With Us adaptation. In the pipeline are adaptations of Verity and Regretting You.
