Vanessa Caswill, known for her work on Netflix’s Love at First Sight and the BBC’s Little Women series, has been announced as the director for Universal Pictures' highly anticipated adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel Reminders of Him.
The story follows Keena Rowan, a young mother grappling with her desire for redemption after a tragic mistake. As Keena works to rebuild her life, she faces challenges that test her strength and determination. The novel has resonated deeply with readers, selling over six million copies in the United States alone.
Hoover, along with Lauren Levine, is penning the screenplay and producing the project under their Heartbones Entertainment banner. Universal's Director of Production Development, Christine Sun, will oversee the film, which is slated for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026.
Reminders of Him is just one of several Colleen Hoover adaptations currently in the works in Hollywood. The surge in interest follows the massive success of the film adaptation of her novel It Ends With Us, which earned over $300 million in global box office sales. Hoover’s rising prominence in the entertainment industry includes another upcoming project, Verity, starring Anne Hathaway and directed by Michael Showalter (The Idea of You), which is set to debut on Amazon.
Caswill’s appointment as director brings added excitement to the project. Her previous work, including the widely praised Love at First Sight, demonstrates her ability to handle emotionally resonant stories. Her direction of Little Women further highlights her talent for bringing complex, character-driven narratives to life.
