Karla Sofia Gascon, who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Emilia Perez, has joined the cast of School of Seduction, reported Variety. Directed by Jacques Audiard, Emilia Perez was nominated in 13 categories at the 2025 ceremony.
School of Seduction will be directed by Carlo Verdone, who made his debut with the Sergio Leone backed film, Fun Is Beautiful. The film is produced by Aurelio Laurentiis and Luigi Laurentiis.
Gascon joins the cast which is led by Vittoria Puccini and Lino Guanciale. The story of the film will centre on a romance coach, who guides people to navigate the complex new age world of digital romance.
Emilia Perez, which released on Mubi on December 6, 2024. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. For her role as Emilia Perez in the film, she was nominated for multiple awards ceremonies including BAFTAs, Golden Globes, SAG awards, amongst others. She won the award for Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.
