The next instalment in Paramount’s hit horror franchise is arriving later than expected. A Quiet Place Part III, directed, written, and produced by John Krasinski, has shifted its release date from July 9 to July 30, 2027, the studio confirmed Thursday.

Krasinski, who revealed on social media that he’s returning to helm the film, is keeping story details and the cast under wraps for now. He will once again produce alongside Allyson Seeger under their Sunday Night Productions banner, which has a first-look deal with Paramount, in collaboration with Platinum Dunes.

The three-week delay means the film will now avoid going head-to-head with James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow, a Superman sequel also slated for July 9, and instead enjoy a clear corridor at the end of the month.

The A Quiet Place series has proven to be one of Paramount’s strongest franchises, having earned more than $900 million worldwide across three films. Krasinski launched the saga with A Quiet Place in 2018, which premiered at SXSW to raves before opening with $50.2 million and ultimately grossing $341 million globally. The film, starring Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds, went on to secure an Oscar nomination for Sound Editing.

The 2021 sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, arrived after pandemic delays and became a key driver in reigniting the box office. Opening with $57 million over Memorial Day weekend, it finished with $297.3 million worldwide and scored a BAFTA nomination for Best Sound.

Most recently, audiences were introduced to the spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One in 2024. Directed by Michael Sarnoski and set in New York City during the initial invasion, the prequel starred Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. It debuted at $52.2 million before closing with $262 million worldwide.
