Glen Powell headlines the remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1987 film The Running Man. In the film, directed by Edgar Wright, Powell plays a participant in a dangerous game that requires running away from hunters for 30 days straight for a $1 billion reward. In a recent interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Powell discussed the secrets to making the act of running look authentic onscreen. The actor said that he sought advice from sprinting coaches and that they told him that only Tom Cruise knows how to do it right.

"Most people on camera do not know how to run. It is a really hard thing to do. Like, everybody thinks they can run on camera. Then, you know, Tom told me, 'Film yourself running just to see what it looks like,'" Powell shared. The actor revealed that it looked lame the first time he did it before he got the physics of it right with the help of sprinting coaches.

"I sprinted every morning on different surfaces and really tried to make sure I was able to take corners sharply, jump off things. It is not just (about) running on flat surfaces... Your body has to kind of absorb a different level of wear and tear than you are normally used to," the actor explained.

Powell and Cruise worked together on Top Gun: Maverick. Coming back to The Running Man, the film is set to release in theatres on November 14, Friday.
