The upcoming drama Run, directed by Melissa Miller Costanzo, has officially wrapped filming in New Jersey, with Chris Redd joining the cast alongside Sarah Levy, Phillipa Soo, and Adam Pally. The film is adapted from Barrie Levitt Knee’s debut novel, Plain Jane.

At the heart of Run is Jane Cooper, portrayed by Schitt’s Creek alum Sarah Levy. Jane, caught in a storm of emotional and moral turmoil, attempts to outrun her troubles, quite literally, by taking on the Garden State Marathon. As she runs, she grapples with a crumbling marriage, the impending death of her best friend, and a life-changing decision that forces her to confront who she truly is.

The film’s ensemble brings together a mix of comedic and dramatic talent. Redd, best known for his 2017–2022 stint on Saturday Night Live and for co-creating Peacock’s Bust Down, adds his distinct energy to the project. Phillipa Soo, who originated the role of Eliza Hamilton in Broadway’s Hamilton and recently appeared as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl, continues to expand her screen repertoire. Adam Pally, beloved for his breakout role as Max Blum in the cult-favourite sitcom Happy Endings, and Levy, whose warm presence as Twyla Sands made her a standout in Schitt’s Creek, round out the central cast.

Behind the scenes, the film is produced by Barrie Levitt Knee of B’s Knees, LLC, along with Matt Jensen, while Jax Kossar serves as executive producer.

Melissa Miller Costanzo is best known for her Tribeca-premiering debut, All These Small Moments. Her credits also include directing Universal’s romantic comedy The List. Earlier in her career, she worked in the art department on acclaimed films such as Precious, The Fighter, and If Beale Street Could Talk.
