Director Ron Howard's highly anticipated survival thriller drama, Eden, dropped its official trailer on YouTube the other day. The film stars Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby, Ana de Armas, Sydney Sweeney, and Daniel Bruhl, among others. The trailer introduces viewers to European settlers as they journey to the island of Floreana in Ecuador at the start of the twentieth century. As they strive to carve out a living, they uncover a grim reality: they must battle each other for survival.
According to the film's plotline, Eden "unravels the shocking true story of a group of disillusioned outsiders who abandon civilisation, settling on a remote, uninhabited island only to discover that the greatest threat isn’t the brutal climate or deadly wildlife, but each other. As tensions spiral and desperation takes hold, a twisted power struggle unfolds, leading to betrayal, violence, and the deaths of half the colony.”
Eden has a Noah Pink screenplay, which draws inspiration from two conflicting takes of an event from real life, weaving a tale of survival with darkly comic elements. The film also stars Felix Kammerer, Richard Roxburgh, and Toby Wallace.
Howard, Karen Lunder, Brian Grazer, Ford, Patrick Newall, and William M Connor serve as the film’s producers. Zach Garrett, Miguel Palos, Craig McMahon, Mathias Herndl, Pink, Namit Malhotra, Masha Magonova, Matt Murphie and David Taghioff are the executive producers.
Eden is slated for an August 22 release in theatres.
