Actor January Jones, most popular for her role as Betty Draper in the series Mad Men, shared a post asking for Donald Trump to publicly disclose the information in the Epstein files. The files related to Jeffrey Epstein, a former convict notorious for financing paedophilia, contain information about witnesses and victims related to Epstein. In May this year, US Attorney General Pamela Jo Bondi revealed that Trump's name has been mentioned in the files, although this alone does not mean that the US President has committed any crime. However, the post that Jones shared argues that the Trump government is not releasing the files for fear of the consequences. "If I was the President and the whole world was calling me a pedophile, I would release every page of the Epstein files to prove I wasn't in there. Unless I was in there," read the post.
Jones has effectively endorsed the views in the original post by sharing it. This is not the first time the actor has opened up about a political issue. In 2022, she shared an emotional post on Instagram discussing how "difficult" the past few years had been, expressing her displeasure due to "political upheaval, violence, or division" and oppression.
On the work front, January Jones last appeared in 2023's God Is a Bullet, also starring Maika Monroe and Karl Glusman. The actor's upcoming projects include the A24 horror feature Altar with filmmaker Egor Abramenko. The so-called "coming-of-age horror" film also stars Lily Collias (Good One) and Hudson Behling in the lead roles, alongside Kyle MacLachlan and David Krumholtz.
