Distribution house A24 and production company Chernin Entertainment are collaborating to bring another nightmarish film to the screen. Titled Altar, the film will be directed by Egor Abramenko of Sputnik fame. It stars Lily Collias, best known for the coming-of-age film Good One, and new actor Hudson Behling.
The ensemble cast of Altar also includes January Jones, Kyle MacLachlan, and David Krumholtz. Will Soodik, the veteran known for his work on creator Jonathan Nolan’s show Westworld, is writing the screenplay, based on Philip Fracassi’s short story. While the makers of the film are yet to reveal full plot information, Altar is billed as a horror feature that revolves around the summer of a boy who is forced to mature more quickly than he thought.
A24 will distribute the film globally. Abramenko, a Russian director with a background in commercials and music videos for top brands, made his directorial debut with the science fiction horror feature Sputnik.
