Tom Holland-Zendaya's Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been having a dream run at the Indian box office as the friendly neighbourhood superhero swings past Rs 216 crore since its release on July 30.
Sony Pictures India made the collection announcement on Sunday. The film earned praise for being the most emotional of Spider-Man films, and the best of Tom Holland's Spider-Man films.
In addition to the original English version, the film's Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada versions too have been getting considerable footfall. However, collections of the English version in India continue to outclass the vernacular versions.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which the world forgets Peter Parker's identity after Doctor Strange's spell. The film sees Tom Holland reprise his role as the friendly neighbourhood superhero, alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman, Marisa Tomei and Mark Ruffalo.
